52 Weeks of Happy: 8/52

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a fun week here in Bristol, despite having some electrical troubles in the house which meant paying for an electrician to come and sort it out, grrrr!

Do come and find me on Instagram if you're on there too.

Here's what's made me smile this week:

1. Completing an order for a cushion and bunting for a little girls bedroom, and then receiving the loveliest message of thanks from my customer who wants to order some extra items to match!

2. After making the doll last week for my daughter, I set about designing and making this dinosaur for my son. I finished it yesterday, and watching him hug it close with the biggest smile on his face just made my day. He's named it 'Lily' after a girl at nursery.

3. I walked past a charity shop and this lovely dish was sitting in the window. I had to have it. It's not in great condition, it's a little cracked and yellowed with age and cooking, but I just love it!

4. I ordered some lino cutting supplies months ago, but have yet had the chance to have a play. So this afternoon I finally set to it. Well, it's been almost 20 years since I last attempted block printing (at school) and it's safe to say I am totally rubbish at it. I need lots more practice, not to mention an ink roller which would probably improve the results!

  1. More lovely things. I really like that dinosaur, it's wonderful, and so simple. I often find that so many crafty things are aimed towards girls and my three year old son gets left out. x

    1. Thank you Gillian. Yes crafty projects do appear to be more geared towards girls don't they, definitely a gap in the market there!

  4. OH. My. Gosh!
That little purple dinosaur is gorgeous!!! It put a big smile on my face!
And that bunting, I love it, we never really had those here in the States but I see them taking off and see more and more people making them, I'm thinking it's because of beautiful blogs like yours and pintrest, making people more aware of British design!
