1. Shopping for a gorgeous selection of pastel fabrics to make some pom poms. I've just fallen in love with pom poms lately, and pastels, and have been desperate to try making some. I've found a few online tutorials to guide me… I'm kind of 'cutting and pasting' them together to create my own design… watch this space!
2. Pancake day has become much more of an event in my life since having children. The twins shrieked with sheer delight as they watched their daddy recreate an episode of Peppa Pig in the kitchen, as he pretended to get pancakes stuck to the ceiling, just like Daddy Pig. I love watching the children slather on the chocolate spread and syrup, and devour pancakes at record breaking speed. So cute.
3. Valentine's Day. I know, we shouldn't wait for one day a year to tell each other that we love one another, but it's still nice to be reminded that it's important to say it. To say 'I love you', to do something a little bit special for one another. I made these love heart cookies based on a recipe over on Bluebird Notes. Thanks Koralee!
4. Miss Polly. I started making this doll last year. The pattern was in Issue 14 of Mollie Makes, by a very talented lady called Laura Hunter. Her Etsy shop can be found here. I gave up when other projects took over, and the poor love got put away. Last week I unearthed her parts from my fabric scrap box. Her limbs were already sewn and stuffed, her head shape cut out, so I decided it was high time I finished her. I've given her to my daughter, and she has decided to name the doll Polly.

Miss Polly is absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteAnd the pastels... Easter is coming, perfect for Spring!
Have a great week!
Thanks Tammy :-)
DeleteYour Polly doll is lovely, I'm wanting to make one, but I need to finish off some of my WIPs first! :) x
ReplyDeleteThanks Ada. Oh those pesky WIPs, always getting in the way of the really fun projects!

Thank you, I really enjoyed making her!
DeleteYour doll is wonderful! I have that issue somewhere, and I remember really wanting to make one of those dolls, but I just had so much else going on at the time...I'll have to find the time as they really are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAlso - I love the way you style and arrange your photos, they are a little visual treat.

Thank you Gillian. I'm glad you enjoy visiting the blog. Instagram is a wonderful tool for quick photography, not always easy to take the SLR out for proper photography!
